Just How Much Does it Cost?
The first thing everyone asks when they approach me is “How much will it cost?” For years, I would spend hours drafting designs, then extrapolating the time spent to come up with the most accurate estimate I can. Eventually, I realised that the cost of the majority of websites can be simply estimated by a fixed cost plus a cost per page. Therefore I decided to put together this cost calculator:
This estimate is fairly accurate for most sites. ECommerce websites will cost more, as will any website that requires payment to be taken. If your website falls into that category, please contact me for a more detailed assessment.
In addition to the cost of the website build, there are recurring costs associated with hosting, maintenance and content updates. I offer a hosting and maintenance plan for £20 per month which includes the following:
- Cloud hosting in a UK data centre
- Weekly WordPress Core, Theme & Plugin Updates
- Daily backups
- Firewall & Regular Malware Scanning
- Uptime Monitoring
- Up to 30 minutes content updates per month. (Content updates in excess of 30 minutes are charged at £36 per hour.)
Monthly Website Care Reports can be provided for an additional £2 per month. Amongst other things, these include Google Search and Google Analytics summaries.
Domain registration is currenty £10.20 per year for a .co.uk domain or £22.68 per year for a .com domain.
